The Scientific Program Committee of the World Congress of Endourology (WCE) 2009 is pleased to receive abstracts for Poster and Videoposter sessions (V-Poster) presentations.

All abstracts will be overviewed in printed format.
Accepted authors and presenters are required to register themselves for the congress by paying the appropriate registration fees.

Poster Submission
Abstracts should be submitted online through the congress website only, following the instructions and recommendations listed below. One copy of the presentation should be retained and carried to the venue. Presentation from personal laptop is not allowed.

Poster overview (printed posters)
Each poster session will involve a half hour overview on printed posters, followed by 1.5 hours of review and questions from the audience. The size of the poster should be 4.88 feet. width x 3.64 feet in length (height) (149 cm x 111 cm). Full details on how to format your printed poster will be provided upon notification of abstract acceptance.

Video Submission
The format of the video presentation should be made using DVD format only.
Deadline for submission of videos to the Scientific Committee is: Closed.

The same must be submitted / forwarded to the audiovisual center / preview room no later than 1 hour before the session. The duration of the video presentation must not exceed 07 minutes. A separate DVD Disc is required for each presentation. Please follow strictly the Video submission requirements:

- Submission should be in MPEG-2 Format;
- If submit in NTSC format, the visual resolving power should be 720 x 480; if submit in PAL format, the visual resolving power should be 720 x 576;
- the submission should be 30 frames per second;
- The bit rate should be more than 386 kbps;
- Main points during the operations should be explained;
- Surgical related key anatomic structures should be marked in the Video;
- Detailed contact information of the correspondent (name card would be proffered) should be submitted along with the DVD

Important Notification
At the time that you submit an Abstract online, you need to indicate whether your abstract is accompanied by a Video very clearly, and the Online Abstract Submission Code you obtain by receiving an email confirmation should also be clearly indicated on the DVD cover, to make sure that your abstract matches the Video. Video submission without such an indication will be considered invalid, and will be rejected.

Abstract Content & Format
Please follow the following sequence: Title, Name of authors and Institution followed by the text consisting of Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions. It is required to input keywords in the “keywords“ textbox.
Photos and other images, and references should not be used.
Generic (non trade/brand) names for drugs should be used and written in full (not denoted by initials or abbreviations).
Abbreviations are allowed only after the term has been mentioned in full, which should be followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis.
Do not identify yourself or your institution in the Abstract text.

Submission
Abstracts should be submitted online through the congress website only.

Style
Abstracts MUST be entered using the online abstract system. Formatting of the final abstract will follow the rules noted below:

Abstract should not exceed 250 words.
Title should be in capitalized letters. Do not indent. Title should be brief and precise.
Initials and family name/s should be separated by one space (e.g. M. R. Desai). DO NOT mention degrees or prefixes such as Prof., Dr., M.D., etc.
The name of the institution and country should be written below the names of the authors in italics.
Leave one line between author and institution block and the main body of abstract.
Begin the text without indenting. Do not leave blank lines.
The sub headings in the text: Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions should be in Bold letters and followed by one space only.
Note: The final decision of the presentation format will be made by the Scientific Committee. Submitted abstracts will NOT be returned to the authors, however, Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection.

Young Investigator Forum
In order to reinforce the academic corporations among the young urologists all over the world, and encourage their enthusiasm in research so as to increase their ability of creativity, the Organizing Committee of the 27th World Congress of Endourology specially establishes a Young Investigator Forum during the Congress, aims to provide them with a platform of mutual scientific expertise exchange.

Qualifications
Anyone under the age 40 can submit his/her work to the Young Investigator Forum for consideration of presentation.
Personal work in the following research areas is strongly recommended:
- Basic research
- Application of new technology
- Endourologic techniques
- Personal learning experience in Endourology
Those interested in this session can check the appropriate Presentation Preference when submitting the Abstract(s).

Only original unpublished abstracts in English shall be considered.

Acceptance shall be judged only on the basis of the contents of the abstract.

Submission and acknowledgment of the receipt of each Abstract shall be performed via an online submission system. Only abstracts submitted through the online system will be considered for acceptance.

Submitting authors will be notified of the acceptance status of their submission by Late August, 2009. The presenting author must confirm the presentation of the accepted abstract within 10 days from the receipt of notification. Failing to confirm acceptance of the Abstract shall be construed as withdrawal of the Abstract from the program.

Accepted and confirmed Abstracts (case presentation not included) shall be published in the Journal of Endourology.

The duration of the video presentation must not exceed 07 minutes. ONLY DVD format will be accepted for video presentations. A separate DVD Disc is required for each presentation. No tape will be allowed. Presentation from personal laptop is not allowed.
